WATCHES AND WONDERS GENEVA HIGHLIGHTS - APRIL 2024 NEWS
The Most Exciting Event in Horology
Another year has seen yet another sensational Watches and Wonders event in Geneva, celebrating the cutting-edge luxury timepieces released across a wide range of brands.
After a long journey to Switzerland, our Owner Julian Farren-Price and General Manager Erik Hallstrom are always looking forward to discovering the incredible novelties released at this annual event.
Upon entering the Watches and Wonders event space on Tuesday, April 9th, Julian and Erik described the atmosphere as full of excitement. They were amazed by how this event grows more and more each year. As always, they were blown away by the creativity of our luxury watch brands and intrigued to discover this year’s trends.
The Novelties
Julian noted that beautiful green dials continue to be a trend across many of the novelties. Showcasing a variety of emerald hues, green appears to be the latest fashionable colour, and it is here to stay! Some of these stunning new dials were introduced by luxury brands such as Vacheron Constantin, Tudor and Chopard.

Beyond this entrancing melody of greens, Erik highlighted that the move towards precious metals in watchmaking appears to be another theme of 2024. Brands are designing show-stopping new pieces that are more valuable than ever before.
Parmigiani Fleurier exemplified this through their wondrous selection of novelties, including the TONDA PF Skeleton platinum masterpiece and reinterpretations of the iconic TORIC collection.

Discovering the Grand Seiko new releases was once again a journey into the beautiful and diverse Japanese landscapes that inspire so many of the brand’s artistic creations. One highlight was viewing the elegant new Birch Bark model, SLGW003 - a stunning new manual-winding timepiece. It is inspired by the multi-dimensional texture of Japan’s slender white birch trees, and features Grand Seiko’s first new hand-wound high-beat movement in over 50 years.

Patek Philippe continues to craft superb masterpieces that are a testament to the brand’s values, expertise and attention to detail. One of the stand-outs was certainly the new World Time reference 5330G-001.
This new generation of the World Time model is distinguished by a patented world first: a date display indexed to local time. In order to offer this useful and highly practical function, Patek Philippe has developed a new movement with an innovative patented differential system to manage the local-time date. This entire mechanism comprises an incredible 70 components.

An Evening of Exceptional Entertainment
On one evening of excitement and breath-taking performance, Julian and Erik attended the Watches and Wonders Tudor dinner, alongside other representatives of selected Tudor retailers from across the globe.
They were honoured to be part of such a fantastic, lively event, full of unexpected surprises. Inspired by the upcoming America’s Cup in sunny Barcelona, this sit-down dinner included exceptional acrobatic performances surrounded by magnificent water features. These performances were inspired by the competition and teamwork at the core of this illustrious ocean race.
An Unforgettable Experience
It is always a thrilling opportunity to try the exquisite novelties on first-hand at the Watches and Wonders salon in Geneva. As a family business propelled by the passion for fine watches for over 80 years, it is always a privilege for J Farren-Price to attend this event.
