Wolf is the After Sales Manager and Head Watchmaker at J Farren-Price, bringing nearly four decades of experience in horology and a lifelong dedication to the craft of watchmaking. Since joining the business in late 2022, he has led the service centre with a philosophy grounded in precision, integrity, and respect for both the timepiece and the client who entrusts it to his care.
Introduced to watchmaking through his father, Wolf began his formal training at the watchmaking school in Hamburg, Germany, before relocating to Sydney in 1988 to further develop his expertise in the restoration of vintage and antique timepieces. His career later evolved through a long tenure with Rolex Australia, where he worked as both a watchmaker and After Sales Manager for more than sixteen years. During this time, he maintained a close professional relationship with J Farren-Price, collaborating on complex service solutions and contributing to the development of external service centres within Sydney’s retail network — experience that ultimately led him to establish and lead the J Farren-Price service centre.
Wolf approaches every repair holistically, balancing mechanical precision with aesthetic excellence. For him, a successful service is one in which a watch performs flawlessly while also reflecting the highest standards of craftsmanship both inside and out. Years of experience allow him to instinctively develop a clear path from diagnosis to completion, ensuring each timepiece leaves the workshop in better condition than when it arrived. Central to his philosophy is honouring the trust placed in him by clients, recognising that every watch represents a personal choice, a milestone, or an expression of identity.
He finds lasting satisfaction in the diversity of challenges watchmaking presents, where technical problem-solving meets creativity and craftsmanship. Outside the workshop, Wolf pursues creative expression through music and photography, having sung in a male voice choir for many years and performed as a soloist, while also maintaining a passion for photography and collecting cameras — interests that reflect the same appreciation for precision, artistry, and detail that defines his work as a watchmaker.
