WHIMSY AND WONDER BY H. MOSER & CIE. - MAY 2025 NEWS
Following the excitement of Watches & Wonders, H. Moser & Cie. continues to enchant with two remarkable post-fair novelties that capture the brand’s signature blend of technical brilliance and creative flair.
From the kaleidoscopic elegance of the Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Rainbow to the sunlit charm of the Pioneer Centre Seconds Sunny-Side Up, these new timepieces celebrate the art of watchmaking with a whimsical twist. Each model reflects Moser’s bold approach to design — where minimalism, humour, and mechanical excellence come together in perfect harmony.
PRECIOUS MINIMALISM
NEW STREAMLINER TOURBILLON SKELETON RAINBOW
H. Moser & Cie. is not in the habit of settings timepieces with precious stones. These come as a breath of fresh air, a nuance, discreet punctuation in the language of watchmaking that is primarily mechanical. Stone-set watches are rare, not by constraint but by choice: brilliance is only meaningful if it highlights, reveals and extends. When H. Moser & Cie. stone-sets a watch, it is to shine new light on the beauty of a movement, balance and minimalism.
The perfect combination of the jeweller's art and watchmaking expertise, the Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Rainbow distils the essence of the tourbillon while underscoring its beauty. This model, available in 5N red gold or steel, is adorned with sixty baguette-cut sapphires in shimmering colours.
Selected with the utmost care, each stone is unique in both shape and colour. The stones are positioned in an invisible setting on the case middle, in a perfect double gradation: one gradient of tones to reproduce the colours of the rainbow, and another gradient of sizes to create the cushion shape of the Streamliner case. The gemstones illuminate this entirely skeletonised model, playing on the contrast between the graceful splendour of the sapphires and the very assertive aesthetics of the watchmaking mechanism.
H. Moser & Cie. has sculpted every detail of the Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Rainbow with precision, removing all superfluous material to reveal and enhance its precious nature. The skeletonisation work gives this model lightness and transparency, as well as incredible depth, revealing all its beauty. The symmetry of the movement, conceived down to the smallest detail, reinforces the visual harmony of this openworked piece.
At 6 o'clock, the one-minute flying tourbillon animates this unique timepiece. A marvel of ingenuity, this skeleton automatic HMC 814 calibre is equipped with a double hairspring designed and produced in-house by H. Moser & Cie.'s sister company, Precision Engineering AG.
The Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Rainbow is a manifesto for daring dreamers who combine mechanical ingenuity with the delicate art of jewellery. And this is just one stage in the creative journey pursued by H. Moser & Cie. as the brand reinvents the contours of the essential, piece by piece.

WHEN TIME HATCHES BRILLIANCE
NEW PIONEER CENTRE SECONDS SUNNY-SIDE UP
With its daring palette and impeccable mechanics, the new Pioneer Centre Seconds “Sunny-Side Up” from H. Moser & Cie. delivers a fresh, radiant expression of high watchmaking. This is more than a playful twist. It’s a piece that commands attention with technical substance and sun-drenched charm.
Inspired by one of philosophy’s oldest riddles - which came first: the chicken or the egg? - H. Moser & Cie. playfully sidesteps the debate with a timepiece that declares, unequivocally, now is what matters most. This watch is a celebration of presence and joy, fusing whimsy with watchmaking in a way only Moser can.
Housed in a 40.0 mm stainless steel case, the watch is designed for everyday versatility with refined execution. The robust construction includes a domed sapphire crystal, screw-in crown, and 12 ATM water resistance - a rare combination in a watch so unapologetically bold. A transparent caseback reveals the craftsmanship within: Moser’s in-house HMC 201 automatic movement, finished to exacting standards.
The sunny yellow fumé dial, a first for the brand, radiates outward with a luminous sunburst finish, subtly shifting with every movement of the wrist. The H. Moser & Cie. logo, printed in transparent lacquer, remains discreet to let the colour speak for itself. Polished indices and leaf-shaped hands, all filled with Super-LumiNova®, provide clarity and contrast against the dial’s warmth.
Inside, the HMC 201 calibre reflects the maison’s dedication to independent innovation. The movement measures 32.0 mm in diameter, with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and a minimum 3-day power reserve. It features a bi-directional automatic winding system, hacking seconds, and the renowned Original Straumann® hairspring, designed for optimal performance and stability. A finely engraved rotor, partially skeletonised bridges, and a dark anthracite finish with Moser double stripes elevate the aesthetic to the level of true horological artistry.
Fitted with a white rubber strap and a steel pin buckle engraved with the Moser logo, the watch wears as effortlessly as it turns heads. A matching stainless steel bracelet is also available, offering a more classic integrated look without compromising the watch’s contemporary charm. This is a timepiece that doesn’t take itself too seriously - but make no mistake, it’s built with the rigour and refinement expected from one of independent watchmaking’s most daring names.
Whether you see it as a burst of joy, a statement piece, or a gentle provocation to tradition, the Pioneer Centre Seconds Sunny-Side Up serves time with a wink - and plenty of substance behind the style.
Retail Price: $26,850 AUD.
