GRAND SEIKO NOVELTIES 2026

Grand Seiko’s 2026 novelties continue the brand’s dedicated pursuit of precision and artistry. Discover a selection of these exceptional new timepieces below.

Spring Drive U.F.A. Ushio 300 Diver

In 2026, Grand Seiko introduces into the Evolution 9 Collection two new diver’s watches powered by a new Spring Drive U.F.A. movement: SLGB023 and SLGB025.

A diver’s watch true to the ideals of Grand Seiko

Like every Grand Seiko watch, these new 40.8mm creations strikes a perfect balance between function and beauty, with legibility, durability, and comfort meticulously engineered to ensure uncompromising performance in any environment.

The prominent indexes of the Evolution 9 Style are precisely diamond-cut for exceptional brilliance, with Lumibrite for superb legibility. These intricately crafted “Ushio” dials evoke the waters that surround the Japanese archipelago. The blue dial reflects the vast expanse of the sea through a gradient that captures light streaming into the deep ocean, while the green dial draws from the tranquil beauty of shallow coastal waters near the shore.

Both the case and bracelet are crafted from High-Intensity Titanium, a material approximately 30% lighter than stainless steel and distinguished by its bright, lustrous tone. The bracelet features a newly developed locking extension clasp with micro-adjustment, offering a total of 24mm of adjustment for wearing over a diving suit. With 300 metres of water resistance, each timepiece combines durability and scratch resistance for exceptional robustness.

The latest Spring Drive U.F.A. movement: Calibre 9RB1

The 9RB1 movement is hand-assembled by the highly skilled craftsmen and women of the Shinshu Watch Studio. The movement’s annual accuracy of ±20 seconds is achieved by vacuum sealing the crystal oscillator, which has been stabilised through a three-month aging process, together with the IC, minimising the influence of external factors such as temperature, humidity, static electricity, and light.

Each oscillator’s frequency is measured at multiple temperatures, and the resulting data is programmed into the low-power IC to enable precise thermo-compensation. The movement features a regulation switch that can be used during after-sales service to correct any divergences in accuracy that may occur over long periods of use.

Available from June 2026. Valued at $17,700 AUD.

Red Lion Spring Drive 8-Day Jewellery Watch

Expressing the passion and majesty of the lion.

A limited edition of eight pieces worldwide.

From the time of its inception in 1960, Grand Seiko has pursued the pinnacle of wristwatches. This unwavering spirit is embodied in its brand symbol, the lion, which is the inspiration behind this jewellery watch. The theme of this model is the “red lion,” capturing the passion and majesty of this inspirational creature. The watch is set with over 250 diamonds, between its beautiful 18k rose gold case and its dial, where they join brilliantly shining garnets, stones that represent the passion that transforms effort into success.

At the watch’s heart is the Spring Drive 8 Days Calibre 9R01, crafted at the Micro Artist Studio, located within Seiko Epson’s Shiojiri facility, where master watchmakers and artisans unite to create the finest Spring Drive movements.

Limited edition launches in October 2026. Valued at $388,000 AUD.

Cherry Blossom ‘Sakura Wakaba’ Mechanical Hi-Beat 36000

Evoking budding leaves on a cherry tree.

This new creation uses a modern interpretation of the 62GS case design along with a dial that conveys a unique moment in the seasonal landscape of Japan. In a first for a 62GS model that is not a limited edition, 18k yellow gold has been used to craft the case. The dial’s light-green colour evokes the budding leaves that follow the cherry blossoms at the end of spring, which glimmer in the light as they reflect morning sun.

With its soft comfort and easy wearability, the leather strap harmonizes with the dial’s subtle colour to impart an elegant impression. Created by the skilled craftspeople of the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, the Hi-Beat Calibre 9S85 achieves its stable precision thanks to its high frequency of 36,000 vph.

Available from July 2026. Valued at $46,600 AUD.

Hana-Ikada Blue Annual Accuracy Quartz

Where cherry blossom petals float on a river under the moonlight.

To look closely at the dial is to be transported to a serene spring scene, just after the vernal equinox, when cherry blossom petals scattered by the wind blanket the surface of a river like floating rafts. Under the soft glow of a hazy moon, this fleeting beauty becomes a dreamlike nightscape. The timepiece captures this enchanting moment with its textured dial and deep-blue colour. It is equipped with the most compact movement in the 9F series, the Caliber 9F51, which maintains exceptional accuracy and performance. The 32.3mm stainless steel case offers a refined, wrist-friendly size, paired with a clean dial without a day or date display for a minimalist aesthetic.

Available from January 2027. Valued at $5,400 AUD.
