In the year 1967, a young designer was tasked with creating the first ever Grand Seiko 44GS timepiece. This new design perfectly embodied the nine elements that define the unique Grand Seiko Style, with a stunning combination of sharp edges and soft lines.
Now, 55 years later, Grand Seiko has announced an exciting new 44GS release as part of their Heritage Collection! This new model, the SLGH013, retails at $14,200 and embodies innovation in every sense. Using the very latest Grand Seiko movement, Calibre 9SA5, this watch offers high precision with an incredible power reserve of 80 hours.

An inspired design
Of course, this new Grand Seiko timepiece sticks firmly to the brand’s creative roots with a light blue dial inspired by the melting Spring snow on Mount Iwate. A strong connection to the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, where the manufacture of all Grand Seiko mechanical models takes place.

Observe as light pours in, creating an every-changing background thanks to the combination of a flat dial and a wide opening in this brilliant new watch. With detailed Zaratsu polishing and a larger 12 o’clock index, the Grand Seiko SLGH013 dial boasts a radiant sparkle with high legibility, in honour of the brand’s uniquely Japanese character and heritage.

Ever-Brilliant Steel
Another exciting touch, this new release marks Grand Seiko’s first timepiece using Ever-Brilliant Steel for both the case and the bracelet. Not only does this increase the brightness of the watch, but it also improves the corrosion resistance that is crucial to the watch’s durability.
