When it comes to Grand Seiko diver’s watches, visibility is at the forefront of their meticulous design. The 12 o’clock index is the strongest with a large triangular shape, followed by the rectangular indexes at 6 and 9 o’clock. The date window sits clearly at 3 o’clock, and the rest of the indexes are circular to allow for ease when reading the time from any angle.
All indexes are three-dimensional and stand out prominently from the dial. The hands, indexes and bezel are also generously adorned with Lumibrite to ensure excellent legibility and contrast even in the depths of the sea.
Another key principle behind the design of Grand Seiko’s diver’s watches is safety. The uni-directional rotating bezel offers extra security and precision as each click is for 120 seconds, rather than 60. The bezel’s deep grooves mean that it can be turned accurately, even with dive gloves on.
