GRAND SEIKO SLGA025 & SBGH347

‘ATERA BLUE’ Spring Drive 5 Days Titanium – SLGA025

A Spring Drive watch with a dial depicting the beautiful Atera Valley in all its emerald-green glory.

Atera Blue Grand Seiko

Nagano Prefecture, where Spring Drive watches are manufactured, is home to a number of mountains rising over 3,000 meters. The countless rivers that flow from these mountains have, over many years, created a lush, natural environment. The Atera River carves out a deep ravine called the Atera Valley, known for its breath-taking beauty.

Grand Seiko Atera Blue Dial Closeup

Using the clear, emerald-green waters of the Atera River as a motif, the dial conjures the image of a stream so clear that one can see the bottom, as well as the rich, natural harmony of summertime.

Calibre 9RA2

At the heart of this watch is the Spring Drive 5 Days Calibre 9RA2. This movement provides up to 120 hours (5 days) of power when fully wound, as well as an average accuracy of ±10 seconds per month, an astounding achievement for a watch powered by a mainspring.

SLGA025 is now available at J Farren-Price, Sydney.

Retail Price: $15,500

‘ICEFALL’ 1998 Hi-Beat 36000 – SBGH347

A high-beat mechanical watch depicting the fantastic scenery of a frozen waterfall on its dial.

Grand Seiko Icefall

This creation exhibits a new dial pattern while inheriting a classic Grand Seiko case design. The dial evokes a frozen waterfall that one might encounter in the dead of winter on Mount Iwate, the imposing peak visible from the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, home to Grand Seiko mechanical watchmaking.

Grand Seiko Icefall Dial

Such frozen waterfalls are a natural phenomenon, whereby the water flowing down from a waterfall gradually solidifies when the temperature drops below freezing. This fantastic scene is depicted on the dial through the dynamic and detailed pattern, as well as a unique bluish-white colour.

Grand Seiko Calibre 9S85

The movement is the Hi-Beat Calibre 9S85 with 10 beats per second, which grants stable precision by reducing variations in accuracy. The case, which is 37 mm in diameter, is made of Ever-Brilliant Steel, a material that boasts exceptional corrosion resistance.

SBGH347 will be available from October 1st, 2024.

Retail Price: $9,900
