The Perth Mint has been honing their craft of coin making for more than a century, pushing the boundaries to create not just coins, but breathtaking works of art. The latest masterpiece in the renowned jewelled series, The Jewelled Koi, is no exception.
Koi are themselves a product of dedication to craft, selectively bred for decades to create fish that are said to shine like diamonds — living jewels.
And now, these living jewels have been fittingly immortalised in a 10oz coin of 99.99% pure gold. Obverse design bears the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, monetary denomination and 2022 year date.
The coin is mounted by two shimmering koi an 18 carat rose gold carp handset with 78 Argyle pink diamonds, and an 18-carat white gold carp handset with 80 white diamonds each with two Argyle golden diamonds for eyes.
Each coin is presented in a luxury cabinet-style case, featuring double doors embellished with 18 carat gold furnishings and two Argyle pink diamonds.
