For centuries, the world’s finest rubies have been mined in the Myanmar (formerly Burma) region, with their famous mining zone Mogok being classified worldwide as ‘Ruby Land’ itself. The Burmese ruby defines the benchmark for incredible, rare rubies, specifically due to their remarkable vivid red colour.

The 8.0ct GIA certified loose Burmese ruby
is vivid red in colour – also described in the trade as ‘Pigeon’s Blood’ red. This vivid 'Pigeon Blood' red is the most sought after colour for any ruby.
This one-of-a-kind Burmese ruby is oval shaped, with measurements of 12.74 x 11.04 x 6.62mm. The crown’s cutting style is brilliant cut, while the pavilion cutting style is step cut. It is of the natural corundum species.

Approaching fast is July, of which the birthstone is the mighty ruby. Historically, many different cultures have considered the ruby to be the most precious gemstone.
