Description

An archetypal Grand Seiko design, with a silken dial. Shinshu, the region where all Grand Seiko Spring Drive watches are created, was once a major centre of silk production. This classic design has a dial whose silken sunray pattern pays tribute to this heritage. The fine grain of the pattern radiates outwards and catches the light at every angle. It has a soft texture, as if it were the finest silk, which can only be created by the application of soft silver, using a special method of silver plating. Thanks to Grand Seiko’s unique Spring Drive movement, the seconds hand glides silently and smoothly, with no “tick”, across the dial, perfectly reflecting the natural and continuous flow of time. The power reserve is 72 hours when fully wound and is shown on the discreet indicator next to the eight o’clock index.
